Jim Street has been a member of Rotary since 2006. That summer, he was taking a group of ASU students to Cochabamba, Bolivia. Coincidentally, the Boone Sunrise Rotary was looking for someone to take funds raised to support rural farmers to the same city. Jim was installed as a rotary member on a Tuesday morning, then was given money that afternoon, then took off for Bolivia the next day. Ever since that experience, he has loved being a member of Boone Sunrise. Jim has worked at Appalachian State University since 1991 as a leadership educator. He has 3 grown children, and loves exploring the High Country with his wife, Jenny Koehn.
