On Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 am, Jeff Savage, recently appointed Director of Development for Watauga Habitat for Humanity, will speak to the Boone Sunrise Rotary at the Boone Marriott.
A Dover, Delaware native, Jeff Savage recently relocated with his family to Watauga
County and will be working with fundraising and marketing efforts for Watauga Habitat.
Savage, spent 13 years as a Division I Softball Coach at Delaware State University in Dover,
Delaware.
He also spent over 20 years as a public school teacher, coach, and athletic
administrator. Jeff has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Rio Grande in Ohio, and a Master’s Degree in Sport Administration from Delaware State University. Savage finished his coaching career with an overall 364-301-1 record. In 2008 he led his team to the NCAA Tournament and were eliminated in a close 3-2 battle with the Texas Longhorns. Top wins include victories over Virginia, Pittsburgh, Delaware, St. Joseph’s, Temple, and Appalachian State. In addition to his coaching success, Savage has made his mark for his work on behalf of such organizations as the Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware and Delaware Special Olympics. He currently resides in Valle Crucis with his wife of 35 years Cindy, daughter Janice, who is the current Appalachian State Softball Coach, and grandchildren Jada (8), and Colton (4).
